Our children grow so fast!

Someone is always telling me, ‘Enjoy your child.  They grow so fast.’  And then I saw the video that Frans Hofmeester filmed of his kids over a period of 12 years and 9 years.  The video was taken every Saturday morning and in a couple minutes tells a story of their personality and growth.  A kind reminder that our time with our children is short….

He says, “It (the video) carries a message about living your life, and enjoying every moment of having your children with you.”

Mindful Mothers’ Day Retreat

Mothers need to be honored and adored.  What a better day to be reminded of this but on Mothers’ Day!  Take time to nurture yourself.  Go for a walk, arrange a massage, lunch with friends, take an exercise class, read a book– anything that brings you joy.

Gina Hassan is leading her annual Mothers Day retreat (a day early) on Saturday, May 12 and is another wonderful option for treating yourself.

“Come honor your motherhood.  Practice mindfulness with meditation & yoga, explore the path of mindful motherhood, cultivate spaciousness & connect with the powerful wisdom of the present moment.  Give this gift of care to yourself or a mother you know.

May 12, 2012.  Cost $70

A fathers reflection on the world’s changes…

This article, from The Guardian, is a kind, but sad reminder of what may happen in our child’s lifetime.  What would you write to your child if you had to summarize all that has changed in just a few centuries?

A dad’s letter to his daughter entitled:  Daughter, my generation is squandering your birthright.
