A Vote for the Best Sunscreen!

I know you are probably gearing up for voting tomorrow, but if you have a moment could you vote again?

The past couple years I’ve recommended a sunscreen, called TruKid, made by an Oakland mom. Always want to help the local businesses and when I heard about this vote, I HAD to vote for them.  So if you’ve tried TruKid products or if you just want to help this local business, please vote with the link below.

Non toxic Alternatives for Halloween Face Paints

Oooooooooo.  Halloween is almost here.  Do you have plans to celebrate with your baby?

There are so many costumes to fit your little one.  But when we are talking about face paints, natural is best.  We don’t want to use toxic face paints on their tender skin.  Safe cosmetics has some alternatives and ‘make it yourself’ recipes to try.  Remember, when putting anything on babies skin, test a small patch and watch for reactions before lathering it on.

Felt Baby Balls

I am completely in love with these wool felt balls by local artist, Rebecca Daun-Widner.  Every baby needs a set (they come in sets of 3).  They can be made to order in a variety of designs, are completely washable and will be a joy to play with.  Invest in these balls and support a local Oakland artist.  You and your baby can try them out in a tum e time class.

Its a great gift idea if anyone wants to buy your little one something functional and beautiful!

Top Toys Of All Time

In my class I talk about and show you how to use things from around the house to play with instead of feeling like you have to buy loads of baby gadgets.  Although the stores are brimming with choices, so are the rooms in your house and the paths in the local parks.

I had to laugh when I stumbled upon this article from GeekDad on the Wired website.  It speaks to exactly this….enjoy, laugh, and make each birthday and holiday a joyful one with just the basics.
