Dads Warmline!

Dads can now talk with another dad on the Warm Line. In our mission to serve more communities, we now offer services specifically for dads. You can call our Warm Line and ask to talk with a dad. This is a place where dads can talk to another dad about their own mental health needs during this period as well as gather information about supporting a partner who might be experiencing their own mood or anxiety disorder.

Toll-Free Peer Support Line 1-888-404-7763Leave a message, and a trained volunteer will return your call within twenty-four hours.Our support line offers free telephone support for all parents.  The line is staffed by parents who have experienced a perinatal mood and/or anxiety disorder and has recovered fully, or licensed therapist with specialized training in perinatal mental health.We provide warm, understanding, effective and private support and professional referrals for new parents and their family members.We also provide information about support group locations and schedules, and resources and information for professionals in the community.NEW!  Dads line-   call our warm line and ask to talk with a dad.  This is place where dads can talk to another dad about their own mental health needs during this period as well as gather information about supporting a partner who might be experiencing their own mood or anxiety disorder.

New Dad’s Group at Rockridge Wellness Center

New Dad’s Support Group at Rockridge Wellness Center

Taking care of a new child can be an overwhelming jumble of stimuli, with
daily new stresses and unforeseen joys. The Dads Support Group offers a
time-out for self-care, reflection, and the support of others with little
ones (infants to preschoolers). Dads Support Group also offers concrete
stress-reduction tools, along with techniques to nurture and navigate
relationships with partners and other caregivers.

Dads Support Group meets once a week for 6 weeks, on Wednesdays from 6:30
PM – 8:00 PM, at the Rockridge Wellness Center (5327 College Avenue).
Fall/Winter group runs 11/30/16 – 1/18/17 (no group the last two weeks of
December). Cost for 6 groups: $180.

Facilitated by William Selig, PsyD, MFA, a psychotherapist and a father.

Support Group for Mothers – Under New Management!

This announcement was made by Janaki Costello, Molly Brannigan, Jennifer Subasic-Marks and Callai Nagle who now all facilitate groups under the name Support Group for Mothers. This group was begun by Sherry Reinhardt and gets better and better with this new collaboration!

We are pleased to say that Jennifer Subasic-Marks, a favorite among mothers, will continue to facilitate many of the groups.

We will continue to offer excellent facilitated groups in Albany and Oakland for first-time moms, second-time moms and back to work moms.

 We are also introducing a brand new group, Support for Pregnant Moms, facilitated by Callai Nagle.

BirthWays New Moms Group

BirthWays New Mom’s Group Starting October 11

This 6-week series is a facilitated support group for new moms and their babies (usually babies rage in age from 2 weeks to 4 months). We gather to take some time to give back to yourself and share the intensity and joys of new motherhood with other moms. $175 per mom-baby pair.
