How Dance Encourages Creativity In Children

With the fall and winter upon us, I know that you will be looking for more indoor ideas to do with your little one. Somehow, my discussions always come back to movement. So for an easy activity try out dancing with your baby! Hold your baby in your arms as you dance around your place. It doesn’t take much room and its a wonderful workout. Secure baby and use moves that are appropriate to the age of your baby.

Here is an article with some great ideas for babies who can sit and stand independently.

Postpartum Stress Support Group

This is a group offered by Lee Safran, a long time Marriage and Family Therapist in the area.

With a birth of a new baby, we all need help, but help looks different to each of us. Identifying the concerns are extremely important. Support groups are a great way to be heard and get the support you need.

This is from Lee herself, “I have one space left in my next Postpartum Stress (depression/anxiety) Support Group beginning 9/15/13.  The group is appropriate for women experiencing anxiety, intrusive thoughts, depression, insomnia, birth trauma, overwhelm and/or problems with attachment to their child.

The group will run biweekly for 8 sessions with the possibility of repeating the group cycle depending on the needs of the group members.  For more detailed information and a flier, please go to my website, http://www.leesafran.com/psg.htm.  Please feel free to call with any questions about the group and to pass this information on to interested others.

Warm regards,
Lee
