East Bay Waldorf Parent/Infant Class

I was disappointed when my daughter was young that Birthe wasn’t teaching this infant class at East Bay Waldorf School.  Our family did go on to be a part of the toddler classes for many years and we enjoyed the sense of community, nurturing food and conversations.  Although it was quite a distance from our home, the campus immediately grounded me and I looked forward to our family time together.

This is why I was excited to see Birthe’s post in the UC Berkeley Parents List this week announcing the upcoming infant classes.  The classes are FREE and Birthe has so much experience and knowledge to share.

Here is the posting, if you missed it:

Kids Music: Trout Fishing In America coming to Berkeley

Trout Fishing In America has been one of my favorite kids bands, even before kids, thanks to WXPN in Philadelphia. They are an eclectic band, a bit rock-ish, a bit folk-ish, mostly original stuff (both band members are trained musicians) and some covers.  They know how to work the crowd and are extremely kid friendly!

They will be in Berkeley for a rare concert appearance at Congregation Netivot Shalom, 1316 University Ave., Berkeley on Wed., March 14 at 6:30 p.m.

Its an early show, so you can grab dinner, dance, sing and still be in bed on time!

How To Make A Swaddle Blanket

Want to sew your own swaddle blanket?  I found this on The Guardian today.  The fabric immediately caught my eye.  Yes, its easy to buy a blanket, but what about spending a bit of time making your own.  Chose a fabulous 60’s pattern or some cheery spring color in flannel cotton.  I wonder if the tie makes it easier than using a regular blanket.  If you sew one up, please let me know.
