FAQ

Can I arrange a private group class?
Yes, many mom’s groups, birthing groups and families arrange their own private class. Please email me for more information.

How old should my baby be to participate?
There are Tum e Time classes to meet the needs of your growing baby.

Tum e Time Part 1 – babies ages one month to pre-crawling. Even parents with babies on the verge of crawling will benefit from the classes.

Part 1 is always recommended as it lays the foundation for much of the conversation and techniques that we will build upon, but it is not required.

Tum e Time Part 2 babies 5 months to new crawlers and can be taken as a continuation if you have taken Part 1 or if your baby is 5 months or older and you just want to begin with Part 2.

Infant Massage and Sensory Play can be adapted for ages birth to 1 year old.

Does my baby need to participate in all class activities?
Baby’s needs come first. You will find babies in class sometimes engaging in activities and sometimes feeding, sleeping, crying, etc. The ideas put forth in the classes are meant to be integrated into your daily routines, the class is not about baby “performing”. Many parents come to class even when their little one is sleeping because they can focus, enjoy being social and gathering with other new families. The class is purposefully designed to be flexible.

My baby has special needs can I still join?
Children of all abilities are welcome to join the class. I have a background in special education and was a program coordinator for an early intervention center for many years. I would be happy to discuss any accommodations or adaptations that you and your baby might need.

What if I, or my baby, have medical/health issues?
You are responsible for checking in with your care providers to make sure that this is a class that is recommended for you or your baby. Please discuss any concerns you may have with your care providers before joining a class.

What is the cost of the class per family?
The cost is listed in each class description on the ‘Classes’ pages of this website. If you have something to barter or need a slide scale, please ask!

How can I register and pay?
This website makes it easy to submit your registration on-line by filling out the registration form and clicking the submit button. You can also pay directly from this website through PayPal. Sorry, I don’t do Venmo, Apple Pay, etc. at this time.

What is the Cancellation Policy?
100% refund if canceling 1 week/7 days before class begins or the payment can go towards a future class.  If you cancel with less than 7 days in advance or you do not show for a class, your class fee will be forfeited.

What if I have to miss a class?
Often families miss a class, planned or unplanned, but there are several things that I’ve done to help make up for it. There is a handout packet which outlines each class (including songs, massage, yoga, and other developmental thoughts), a video that reviews the songs/sign language that we do each week and the online classes have recorded sessions that will be sent to you for viewing for 1 week. Plus you are always welcome to ask me any questions.

Please be aware that I cannot offer make-ups, refunds or prorate classes.

What should we wear?
Sitting on the floor is the safest place; so comfortable clothing is a must. Dress your baby in easy access clothing and be aware that massage oil may stain.

How should I prepare for class?
I will send out the class details for each class, so you have everything that you need to bring. It’s always things that you have in your home so don’t worry, no fancy equipment necessary 😉

Are gift certificates available?
Yes. Give the gift of a class to someone who’s expecting. Makes a great shower gift. Gift certificates can be used for any class at any time.
