meets in Albany on Tuesdays, April 18 – May 23, 2017 1:00PM – 3 PM
For over 35 years, Support Group for Mothers has been offering a safe,
non-judgmental environment where you can share the joys and address the
challenges of parenting years. Join us to make new friends as you navigate
a path toward your new role as a mother.

– Changes to couple relationship
– Maintaining personal and couple identity
– Balancing baby’s needs with family needs
– Breast and bottle feeding
– Functioning without personal space

Group is facilitated by Jennifer Subasic-Marks, who has been working with
expectant and new families for over twenty five years. She brings
compassion, humor, and personal and clinical expertise to the conversation.
Fee for the six week series is $199.

BirthWays New Moms Group starting in Berkeley
Postpartum Stress Support Group
Lee Safran has a new Postpartum Stress (depression/anxiety) Support Group beginning 2/18 or soon thereafter. Lee has run these groups for the last 10 years and offers a space for connection, growth and community for women feeling isolated in their postpartum experience. The group is appropriate for women experiencing anxiety, intrusive thoughts, depression, insomnia, birth trauma, overwhelm and/or problems with attachment to their child.
The group will run biweekly for 8 sessions with the possibility of repeating the group cycle depending on the needs of the group members. The meetings are in Kensington within blocks from Berkeley/El Cerrito/Albany borders.

This is a place where dads can talk to another dad about their own mental health needs during this period as well as gather information about supporting a partner who might be experiencing their own mood or anxiety disorder.

The line is staffed by parents who have experienced a perinatal mood and/or anxiety disorder and has recovered fully, or licensed therapist with specialized training in perinatal mental health.We provide warm, understanding, effective and private support and professional referrals for new parents and their family members.We also provide information about support group locations and schedules, and resources and information for professionals in the community.NEW!
